Handel’s Messiah LIVE from King’s College, Cambridge

The world’s most famous choir in North American and English cinemas this Easter!

This Easter will be unlike any before. The world’s most famous choir, Britain’s internationally acclaimed Choir of King’s College gives a special performance of Handel’s Messiah in Cambridge and transmits in High Definition to cinemas across Europe and North America. The King’s Choir’s performance on April 5^th will be transmitted live into cinemas across Europe and by delayed presentation on April 11^th in Canada and the USA. A major new development, this will be the first ever, live, simultaneous screening of a choral concert in cinemas in different countries. Montreal distributor DigiScreen Corporation, who releases Royal Opera House’s Opus Arte HD productions throughout the year, is facilitating the presentations.

In Canada, the performance is seen 6 days later. The captured live performance will be presented across Canada at 1pm on Saturday 11 April, at Empire Theatres and select locations. The Easter performance of Messiah will be performed in King’s College Chapel where the storied choir has performed since the days of Henry VI. The most popular of all oratorios is the centerpiece of Easter at King’s, a ten-day celebration in Cambridge, UK, headlined by this pre-eminent representative of the great British church music tradition. King’s College was founded in 1441 and is one of the 31 colleges of the University of Cambridge. Its Chapel is one of the most iconic buildings in the world.
